FEBI UIN Raden Intan Intensively Holds Guest Lectures
Bandar Lampung (Public Relations of UIN RIL) – The Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) of the State Islamic University (UIN) Raden Intan Lampung (RIL) continues to intensively carry out academic internationalization activities by inviting academics from abroad.
Located in the Theater Room, 2nd Floor, UIN RIL Academic & Research Center Building, Friday (24/11/2023) a number of FEBI students filled the room enthusiastically to listen to the material of three professors from Malaysia and the Philippines.
Present as resource persons in this activity were Prof. Dr. Ubaidullah Mustaffa (Dean of Iqra & Business University Geomatics Malaysia); Prof Dr Anwar M Radiamoda (Director of Sharia Center Mindanao State University, Philippines); and Prof Ts Dr Ong Huei Ruey (Senior Dean of the Institute of Academic DRB-HICOM University of Automotive Malaysia).
It is hoped that the presence of these resource persons will provide insight and in-depth understanding to FEBI UIN Raden Intan Lampung students regarding the latest developments in the fields of Islamic economics, business and finance at the international level. This time’s Guest Lecture has the theme Global Islamic Finance: Current Trends and Future Prospects.
The Chancellor of UIN RIL Prof H Wan Jamaluddin Z MAg PhD officially opened the event and welcomed the speakers. The Chancellor said that this activity was part of the implementation of the internationalization vision of UIN Raden Intan Lampung.
“This activity is very important to develop UIN Raden Intan Lampung. “We have to design it so that it continues to get recognition from the international world and of course it will be beneficial for our campus, especially in terms of accreditation,” he said.
Each resource person took turns providing material to the enthusiastic lecturers and students of FEBI UIN Raden Intan Lampung who filled the room. The opportunity to discuss directly with international level speakers was a valuable moment for participants to broaden their horizons and increase their understanding of global Islamic economic and business issues.
The first presentation was delivered by Prof. Dr. Ubaidullah Mustaffa who discussed Research Methodology on Islamic Business: A Scientific Approach to Understanding Islamic Business Principles for Sustainability and Ethical Practices.
He explained that research methodology starts with choosing a good research title. Must contain several specific words in a sentence, such as variables and settings.
Then Prof Dr Anwar M Radiamoda gave material on Islamic Principles of Business. In his presentation, he emphasized Islamic values in business. Business must have an honest and truthful manner. “Good business is done with one’s own hands, without cheating, usury and other bad attitudes,” he said.
Meanwhile, Prof Ts Dr Ong Huei Ruey shared his insights and experiences by presenting the material Student Employability: Challenges & Potential Solutions. He mentioned employment challenges for university graduates, such as unemployment/not working, work that does not match your major, difficulty finding work, low work skills. This can be overcome with several potential solutions, including alignment with industry needs, skill development programs, industry-integrated programs, continuous education evaluation. (An/AH)
